The City of Chardon Hometown Heroes Banner Program is to recognize and honor Chardon VFW Members and City of Chardon residents and their immediate family members or friends who are currently serving or who have served our country in the armed forces: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard, Merchant Marine and Space Force. 

Banners will be 30”x60”; double-sided and color. Banners will be displayed for Memorial Day until October 1, 2024; and put back up for Memorial Day to October 1, 2025. Banners will be located on Water Street. At the end of the summer, the banner will be available to the applicant. The Hometown Heroes Banner Program will be available to the first thirty (30) applicants on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost of each banner is $200 – to be displayed for 2024 and 2025. (Checks are to be made out to the City of Chardon.)

Each banner will be individualized. Banners will include the service person’s: Name/Rank, Branch, Year’s Served and War. Please include a high-resolution, 600 dpi, digital photo in a JPEG or PNG file format of the service person in uniform.  (Photos are to be emailed to: rrepasky@chardon.cc )
